Creating a new, exciting and colourful kitchen is something so many of us dream of. Our customers, Skip and Julie, just made that dream a reality as they finished their beautiful kitchen renovation and now they have a different kind of ‘kitchen blues’… pause for laughter…
Their stunning blue tone cabinets contrasted with a bright and light worktop and wooden floor really create a warm and inviting kitchen-diner. Steven worked with Skip and Julie early on in their renovation project as they began to plan their kitchen extension. Involving your kitchen designer before your building work is a great idea! It’s never too early to start planning your kitchen. We can help you with your layout, services and finishes from the outset so that you can maximise the space, functionality and look of your new kitchen.
Skip and Julie had an idea of what they wanted for the colour and finish of the kitchen, but Steven collaborated with them to really push their ideas and deliver the best end product. Once Steven started to establish the kitchen plan, we sent out samples so the couple could compare different styles and colour options. We do this for all customers to ensure they are happy and feel comfortable making an informed decision when purchasing a kitchen. So whether it’s a door, worktop or something else that you want to see in your own space, we’ll be happy to help!
From the first contact found Steven very easy to communicate with about our requirements. We loved their kitchen range especially the one we went for and at a good competitive price. We did have a couple of issues when I come to fit our kitchen but couldn’t fault how Smile responded and help me deal with them. I would recommend that anyone looking for a new kitchen to give Smile a call.
Skip and Julie decided on our Vard range in this stunning and distinct Juniper paired with copper handles, sink and tap to create a really eye catching design using a lovely balance of contrasting colours and textures. They picked our copper bow handles and the Minerva Copper fleck worktops that has beautiful copper speckles running through the worktop. looking specifically beautiful when the light hits.
The use of blue can be so versatile within a kitchen, but pairs perfectly with modern aesthetics as seen here in our modern shaker style range, Vard. Vard is our solid timber frame door with a beautiful painted finish, giving the door depth and dimension. This range is our most versatile due to it’s wood finish. It can be sanded, sprayed, filled and painted, allowing you to completely revamp your kitchen in a simple and easy way if you decide to change your look a few years down the line, without having to replace your doors!
Blue can be used on a whole kitchen as Skip and Julie have done, or can also be used in certain areas of the kitchen to add a splash of colour. Our blue door, Juniper, would pair perfectly with lighter tones, such as our Chalk, Tusk or Clay doors to create a mix of colours within the kitchen for those not feeling quite brave enough for the full blue look. You can mix colours in a variety of ways, using lighter wall cabinets and darker base cabinets gives the illusion of space and height. However, using a blue on your island allows for a great focal point in the kitchen and is perfect for zoning!
Their design is bold with the use of different shades of blue in the doors, walls, and dining furniture. It is a beautiful example of using similar shades of the same colour to create dimension and a warm and welcoming space.
Skip and Julie were a lovely couple! They were friendly and easy to communicate with. They were enthusiastic which made their kitchen a really exciting project
We hope Skip and Julie’s kitchen has inspired you to be braver with your colour choices, as this allows you to see how beautiful your kitchen really can be!
