Ella & Jack’s Renovation: Maximising A Small Utility Room
Ella and Jack are eager home renovators who recently bought their first home in Chorley. The couple wanted to maximise their small utility room with a versatile and expandable design. The space needed to fit their current style with ample laundry storage and a temporary kitchen area while they extend their home.
Working with Ella and Jack was a fun challenge as they are passionate home renovators with a clear vision of what they wanted. We found the perfect solution - an organised utility that offers generous storage with a natural colour palette for a practical but elegant space.
Goals for the space
Ella and Jack's current room was small, with no natural light. They wanted to utilise the room layout to accommodate an expandable utility area and worktops for a temporary kitchen zone. Finally, the look and atmosphere needed a stylish, neutral style that fits their modern home. Our mission was to unlock the true potential of this space by creating a functional laundry space that reflects their sense of style.
Natural tones
Traditional meets modern in this harmonious kitchen nook. The couple opted for our classic shaker-style Hjerte cabinets in white chalk. To infuse warmth and rustic charm, wood-stained worktop laminates were implemented to balance the white of the cupboards. Our brushed brass Henry handles unify the look with sunlit metallic contrasting, resulting in a visually stunning kitchen that exudes elegance and personality.
Clever storage solutions
At the core of this renovation was maximising the small layout into a well-functioning space. Our designer Corinne used vertical layering by designing floor-to-wall cabinetry on both sides. This helped open the room with seamless surfaces that neatly concealed supplies and appliances.
A standout feature of the renovation was this larder pantry - appearing as an unassuming cupboard until you open it, and it reveals a laundry station with washing appliances stacked on top of each other.
