Fabia’s home evokes joy with its playful balance of intrigue and style. With a new extension to the rear of the property, filled with light from the windows, sky light and glass door, the space ached for a light and bright kitchen.
It was clear from the start that Fabia’s kitchen needed to be a light colour, with Chalk being the clear choice to help bounce the light back around the rest of the room.
Fabia and her partner were looking to increase their kitchen and dining space by extending the kitchen further to the rear of their property. Fabia wanted to make sure her new kitchen helped perpetuate this feeling of openness and light whilst maintaining a traditional style that is a perfect partner to the bohemian feel of the rest of their home. Fabia got in touch with Smile and began working with her designer, Jane. Here’s what she had to say about working with Jane:
“Jane made the process of designing the kitchen so easy. She was able to make us a 3-D view of various design options (amazing) that allowed us to see how the room would turn out. She was super patient with us and was always very happy to make changes to our design until we got it just right. She always had time for us and was genuinely invested in getting us the best design solution.”
Fabia’s kitchen has a glorious balance of traditional shaker style and contemporary elements and this is further evoked through the additional pieces from different décor periods and styles. With a traditional hot water urn, bohemian hanging fruit baskets, cups and plates, modern storage pots and jars, and an antique wooden dining table. These pops of colour and intrigue help to really bring Fabia’s kitchen and home to life.
Opting for a modern chrome knob in place of a traditional handle gives the kitchen a modern twist. This was then matched wonderfully with a chrome tap and stainless steel inset sink, helping drive the contemporary feel of the space.
David and Karen sought a traditional in-frame farmhouse kitchen. They wanted the space to have a wealth of storage, plenty of worktop space, and accessories that help with modern life.
Joanna wanted to create a beautiful and modern open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space that was perfect for all the family.
With long runs of cabinetry and a bright colour scheme, Smile helped Janet to create a bright, open-plan accessible kitchen and dining area.
