Rob’s family dormer bungalow has been lovingly renovated throughout, with a large rear extension that comprises a stunning open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space. Rob’s home wonderfully blends modern finishes with classic style. With its modern farmhouse chic aesthetic, this kitchen nods to the farmhouse kitchens of old with a beautiful modern flare.
Rob wanted to create a space that felt both classic and modern. With plenty of modern touches, they hoped for a great open space to entertain and for their family to gather. They wanted plenty of storage in the kitchen and a separate area for drink storage and preparation.
With a space so open, they were keen to have a large island that could be the centrepiece of their kitchen, while providing a place for additional seating and storage too.
Rob opted for our Hjerte range with its classic shaker styling in the ever-popular light grey of Tusk. They chose to compliment this with the beautifully rich blue Duke on the island. This blue was then carried through in the accessories and the stunning blue range oven. This is then excellently contrasted with simple gold knobs, luxurious gold taps, and matching inset sinks.
Adding a wealth of yellow accessories throughout the space helps to create a sense of balance and adds a touch of flare to this kitchen. With vintage trinkets paired with modern small appliances in the eclectic style that this home embodies so well.
To make the most of the space in Rob's kitchen, designer Jane included a few of our clever storage solutions in her kitchen design. Our corner optimiser is perfect for food storage, the pull-out makes for easy access so you can view your products. This kitchen also featured our towel rail pull-out - a great way to make the most of a small cabinet space, and perfect for storing tea towels, cleaning products, or even sauces.
Jane met us virtually and spoke about our wants and needs, she took our survey and created numerous visualisations of what our kitchen could look like in the form of a 3d walkaround YouTube video, we then had time to think about it, ask for minor changes to be made which she did without question or hesitation.
On delivery day everything arrived when we were told it would. Our joiner made a comment about what good quality it was. Sturdy cabinets and well-sealed doors. A couple of minor issues arose during the installation, when Smile were told they quickly sorted it out working within our joiners timescales. On one occasion I was told 'we don't have any delivery drivers near you tomorrow or the day after, so I'm loading it into the car now and I’ll be there in an hour' What great service is that!
Tara wanted a statement kitchen that could be the centrepiece for the family and entertaining.
Alex was keen that despite having an ultra-modern feel, her kitchen should also feel warm, inviting, and homely.
Keen for something bold and timeless for their new extension, our kitchen design featured pink and cashmere shaker doors with brass accents.
