Geoff’s Modern Minimalist Kitchen Makeover
A complete kitchen makeover, Geoff’s son’s property was out-dated and in desperate need of an overhaul. Geoff and his son were looking to transform his first home into a light, bright, and modern home.
I’m so pleased with how this project turned out and also am very impressed with the end result – a customer fitting their own kitchen can always be a little nerve wracking, but Geoff and his son have done a fantastic job!
Geoff's Goals
With a clear vision for what he wanted the space to include and look like, Geoff’s son wanted a light and bright kitchen that would make even the biggest modern minimalist fans jealous. They wanted it to be a super modern space but designed to stand the test of time and not go out of fashion within a few years.
Completing a lot of the work themselves, they opted to remove the wall between the kitchen and small dining area creating a wonderful space for their new kitchen that was filled with natural light from the large window and French doors that looked out into the garden and conservatory respectively. They wanted the kitchen to be light to really make the most of this natural light and reduce the need for lots of additional lighting.

The Details
Geoff’s son’s kitchen is a beautiful example of how to create a modern minimalist kitchen that is both on-trend and timeless. Coming from our Jasper handleless range, it perfectly combines the modern Germanic style of a handleless kitchen with a traditional painted matt finish. The painted doors really help to add a feeling of sophistication with the matt finish soaking in the light from around the room.
Clear fans of Scandinavian minimalism, opting to keep things slick, simple and de-cluttered, Geoff and his son opted for our Chalk paint finish – a pure and brilliant white that really helps to expand the space and evoke a feeling of near clinical cleanliness. This finish was then perfectly paired with a Calacatta Quartz worktop, with it's polished finish helping to bounce light around the room.

The overall experience has been excellent from start to finish based on quality, price, delivery, and end result. I always felt that Smile were there for me if needed which in fact, wasn’t that often. Thanks to Steven and Smile!
