After discovering Smile through a recommendation by a family member, Tara approached us to help design a large open-plan kitchen, living, and dining space in her stunning new extension. Tara wanted a statement kitchen that could be the centrepiece for the family and entertaining.
Tara chose our Vard range in a stunning combination of Moon, a deep, rich grey tone and Onyx, a silky dark grey. Tara used these two colours in separate areas to help emphasise the island. The large island is the hero of this space and so Tara was keen that it stood out for both its size and colour.
With vast windows along two walls, Tara wanted to keep the cabinetry to the lower part of the walls so that she could really enjoy the views out into their large garden. To compensate for this openness, Tara chose to have a lot of her storage in her island and along one wall. This wall features a run of cabinetry that wonderfully combines tall larder units with standard wall units and a bridging unit that conceals their extractor fan.
The monochrome theme continues not just through the cabinetry but also in the accessories, handles and worktops. With stunning white quartz throughout, Tara’s worktops are a statement of their own. The sleek black handles from our Hugo range complete this slick and modern take on the classic shaker kitchen.
Tara’s kitchen has all the appliances and gadgets that a modern home needs from built-in double ovens and a microwave to a wine fridge, hidden dishwasher and even a Quooker boiling water tap.
Jane incorporated a couple of our most popular storage solutions in this design to make the most out of the space. Our corner optimiser is perfect for storing food, the pull out feature makes it easy to access.
We have had an excellent experience with Smile. We are having an extension built, which will incorporate a new kitchen. On first contact we were assigned our very own designer - Jane. We maintained contact via email and Zoom throughout. She really listened to what we wanted and very quickly came back to us with a plan and 3d model of it. I was amazed at how much this brought our ideas to life.
Jane sent us out samples of the different colours and door handles that we were considering, to help us male our choices. The quality of these was second to none. They have constantly added to their ranges too and so, I have to say, we have made several changes and requested little tweaks here and there throughout the design process. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Jane. Even when we took a step back while sorting builders out, we received no pushy emails. Jane was incredibly patient and professional throughout. We would highly recommend both Jane and the company. You are all doing a fantastic job!
With its modern farmhouse chic aesthetic, this kitchen nods to the farmhouse kitchens of old with a beautiful modern flare.
Alex was keen that despite having an ultra-modern feel, her kitchen should also feel warm, inviting, and homely.
Keen for something bold and timeless for their new extension, our kitchen design featured pink and cashmere shaker doors with brass accents.
