Laura decided to upgrade her family home by opening up the walls and adding an extension to the rear. This allowed her plenty of space for a large and beautiful new shaker kitchen.
Laura was looking to create a large open-plan living space that encompassed a kitchen, dining area and living room. To do this, she was planning to have walls removed, a conservatory demolished and a new extension built. This would then create a larger footprint for her kitchen space, allowing her to have a much larger kitchen.
Laura wanted a light kitchen, with lots of storage, a large island with a hob, and a beautiful view from the sink into the garden.
Laura’s kitchen is a wonderful example of our Hjerte range in a combination of Clay and Moon. She opted for Clay wall units with a Moon island, a beautiful contrast that helps make the island a focal point. The softer Clay coloured wall units sink into their surroundings, allowing the eye to drift over them, meaning that all these cabinets feel less intrusive and giving them a sense of belonging.
Laura was keen that her kitchen felt modern, despite the traditional roots of the shaker style she had opted for. To do this she opted for a clean, white quartz worktop. This polar white quartz of the worktop helps to reflect light across the room. Spreading light from the large doors to the rear side of the kitchen and the large window above the sink into the rest of this open-plan living space.
To further this modern touch, Laura opted for handles from our Fold collection in a brushed chrome finish. The Fold handles wrap around the edge of the door creating a really subtle handle that almost blends into the gaps between doors.
Whilst having modern touches, Laura wanted her kitchen to reflect the traditional roots of our Hjerte range. For this reason, she opted for a classic Belfast sink. This was then elegantly paired with a traditional double handled brushed chrome tap that perfectly matches the handles throughout the kitchen.
With lots of natural light coming through the windows creating a feeling of warmth in the space, Beth wanted to extend this feeling and create a kitchen that was light and bright.
